Showing support for this important part of the town’s heritage, we have sponsored ‘The Alternative Aldeburgh Festival’ at The Pumphouse – a disused Victorian pumping station on the Aldeburgh Marshes. The festival includes 30 varied shows ranging from folk, rock and world music to comedy and cabaret. www.aldeburgh.co.uk News Supporting Suffolk’s finest Bedfords have become involved with the Suffolk Philharmonic, a professional orchestra under the direction of Conductor Lesley Olive, as sponsors for their concerts in May and July. The July concert is an all-Mozart programme, including Exsultate, Jubilate Piano Concerto no.21 and Symphony no. 41 ‘Jupiter’. We hope to continue our support for the SPO and look forward to seeing many of our local clients at the concert. www.suffolkphil.org We take great pleasure that the region is thriving culturally, with art, music and theatre accessible across all genres, and Bedfords are very involved in all manner of events, and not just simply down to sponsorship. Two of our team are very much musically minded, and so far this year have performed at the award-winning venue, The Apex in Bury St Edmunds, with more performances scheduled in the weeks and months ahead. Mimi Moll, by day our negotiator at the Bury St Edmunds Office, is also Leader of the Bury Friendly Orchestra, a local community-based orchestra that performs twice a year. The orchestra are scheduled to perform a film- orientated Summer Concert at the Woolpit Village Hall on Friday 8th July, where Mimi will also be soloist for one of her favourite pieces, Schindler's List. Emmerson Dutton is also a musician, playing double bass with the BFO and more recently, the Suffolk Sinfonia. The Sinfonia performed a summer concert at The Apex on 25th June with a light programme which included which included Arnold’s English Dances, Butterworth’s Shropshire Lad and Langford’s Trumpet Concertino. www.suffolkmusic.co.uk/sinfonia www.buryfriendlyorchestra.onesuffolk.net Above: The Turbans © Matt Jolly Musical agents Culturally alternative
