DON’T BELIEVE THE DOOM & GLOOM
December saw a record month at Bedfords’ Bury St Edmunds
office, who oversaw 22 transactions in the run-up to Christmas and
the New Year. “Although traditionally considered a quiet
period, we have disappointed buyers looking for fresh property
right now”, said Sales Manager Ro Percival.
“We read in the papers that the property market was
slowing up towards the end of the year, but we have investors keen
to acquire property, the low interest rates being offered by the
banks make it a preferable alternative.”
“Properties are selling as long as they are priced
competitively, and in some cases we have seen multiple interest and
sealed bids.”
“Statistics in the national press show that more mortgages
were approved in December 2011 than in the previous month and
national builders are increasing their output, which shows
home-buyers are also returning to the market alongside
investors.”
