Suffolk and Norfolk in Top 10 of Country Life's "England's Best
County 2009"

Country Life magazine has just announced the outcome of its
much-heralded England's Best County award with both Suffolk and
Norfolk featuring in the Top 10 amongst Cornwall, Dorset and
Devon.
Each county was assessed on quantifiable information that was
gathered direct from a variety of authoritative sources, such as
the CPRE, the Met Office, Defra and Natural England. Categories
included in the survey were Social fabric, the county's landscape,
ecological credentials, education, the Arts, dining and health.
Suffolk, which was placed 9th overall, featured strongly in
Society, the Arts, local foods and its 'green'
attributes. Norfolk underlined its tranquil setting whilst
being a key player in the shooting fraternity and art circles
coming 8th overall.
Interestingly, both Suffolk and Norfolk fared lower than average in
regard to property prices compared to the 40 other counties, which
confirms the encouraging signs we have experienced recently with
sales of quality property appearing 'good value' from prospective
purchasers coming to East Anglia from other counties.
